Charleston’s Most Expensive Home Hits the Market for $13.5 Million, and It’s More Like a Mini-Compound

An all-modern mansion is currently the most expensive abode in historic Charleston, South Carolina.

The 6,700-square-foot, 5 BR, 7BA complex built in 2021 hit the market earlier this month, with an asking price of $13.5 million, Mansion Global first reported.

100 Murray Boulevard is truly special, as contemporary homes in the city’s historic neighborhood are incredibly rare, agent Leslie Turner of Maison Real Estate, which holds the listing, told The Post.

Older homes often come with a lot of ongoing maintenance, but, with this property, you’re surrounded by all the charm that Charleston is known for while having a stunning, turnkey residence,” Turner explained.

The mansion was built in 2021 by Akim Anastopoulo, a personal injury attorney. The legal eagle had a brush with national fame in his role as the judge who handed down extreme sentences on the 2004-2009 National Lampoons 2004-2009 TV courtroom fraud series, “An Eye for an Eye,” earning him a Daytime Emmy nomination.

In 2018, Anastopoulo paid $1.93 million for the lot fronting a boardwalk overlooking the Ashley River and tore down a 1960s-era mansion to build his dream home.

In addition to a prime location, the four-story main house offers an array of amenities on the lower level alone, featuring a gym, office, home theater and billiards room. The second floor contains the kitchen, living room and dining room, while the bedrooms occupy the top floors.

Also, there is a guest apartment with its own kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom behind the main house, accessible via elevator or patio.

In terms of alfresco features, there is a pool, deck, outdoor kitchen and lounge area.

For entertaining, it’s great because you can open up the whole house and the pool is right there, as opposed to being down in the backyard, away from the house, Turner commented to Mansion Global.

Having a pool that is truly integrated into the design of the home is what is most special about it.
