But his delicious method involves using a mandoline to slice water-based vegetables into thin slices, something Bec has since found out the hard way can easily cause injury if not used properly.

It was my first time using a mandolin, Id just bought it from Kmart and I didnt realize it came with a guard until after the fact, the influencer with more than 300,000 followers on Instagram and TikTok told news.com.au.

I didn’t think to look because I hadn’t seen other people using a guard when they made their cucumber trend videos.

But I needed a good piece of meat, which sounds disgusting, because it was.

The cut went all the way to the fatty layer of my skin and I had to go to the emergency department.

The $12 Kmart kitchen appliance along with other brands that sell mandolins comes with a finger guard to prevent accidents.

The product also contains a warning that says: Keep out of reach of children, sharp edges, use care when using and wash the item to avoid damage.

Ms Hardgrave, who is known for sharing a variety of different food-related content, was recording herself when the accident happened and later decided to post the video of her nightmare in a bid to warn others.

All the videos I had seen going viral were of people using the mandolin like me, without a safety guard, she said.

A lot of them didn’t seem to be saying anything about how dangerous they were or how easy it was to put yourself down.

My wound is too wide to stitch so I have to keep patching every few days until it heals which will take some time and keep an eye out for infection

The nurse who just fixed my hand told me that no nurse owns a mandolin because so many people come in with mandolin-related injuries.

In her video, Ms Hardgrave could be seen talking to the camera as she sliced cucumber into an empty protein shaker.

As she moved the green vegetable back and forth on the blade, onlookers watched as Mrs. Hardgraves’ hand moved closer and closer to her.

Thankfully, she saved viewers from seeing the accident, cutting the clip to show her in hospital with her hand covered in bandages.

So here’s a warning to everyone, I had just bought that mandolin and I didn’t open the box all the way, she says in the Once Upon a Home clip from A&E.

But it comes with a guard so that doesn’t happen. Just don’t use a mandoline.

The video, titled trend gone wrong, has been viewed 122,000 times and garnered hundreds of comments.

I’m always so scared to use a mandolin, a joint.

The single most terrifying kitchen tool, declared another.

As one said: This exact thing happened to me 2 days ago.

Logan’s recipe has sparked thousands of videos of social media users recreating the delicious dish with Miss Hardgrave pointing out that he does not use bodyguards in his video.

For those who want to try the recipe but without a hospital visit, Logan instructs using a whole cucumber (cut into safe slices) and mixing in a number of spices often found in the pantry.

It adds soy sauce, fish sauce, sugar, green onions, sesame oil, toasted sesame seeds and MSG, obviously. Then he shakes it and spits it out.

It’s so easy and delicious, he said.
