Horrified homeowner finds flock of sheep on her roof: ‘Surely it can’t be a bird’

A homeowner has described the “hilarious” moment she found a flock of sheep walking on her roof.

Kristen Jackson, 28, was left “shocked” after discovering the four farm animals running around on top of her four-bed property on Thursday morning.

She had been in bed with her partner, Daniel Payne, 33, when they heard a loud noise echoing through their home, in Whitworth, Lancs., at around 8am.

And fearing a burglar had broken into their detached home, Kristen rushed outside to see what the strange commotion was all about.

But she “burst out laughing” when she realized a small herd of sheep was walking up and down the roof, which is about 9 meters high.

The marketing executive said: I heard the noises and thought, what is this? Surely it can’t be a bird. Is it a cat or something? It seemed much bigger.

So I thought I should go and see what’s on the roof. Think someone at home is the worst? is anyone coming in?

I quickly jumped out of bed and out the back door, and went to the back garden area and looked up. And I was like, oh my god, there’s sheep on the roof.

I just burst out laughing because it was kind of hilarious.

She added: I ran inside and got my phone and basically said to my partner, you have to go out and see this.

He went out and came back and was just shocked. He just started laughing at the fact that we had four sheep in the house, and they were just looking at us.

And it had allowed the curious cattle to climb onto the roof after slipping through a fence earlier in the morning.

Kristen said she would enforce the property’s boundaries to make sure no more animals get on top of the house. Kristen Jackson / SWNS

She said: We live in Whitworth and back onto the mountains, so we tend to see sheep and cows wandering up and down the road if they’ve been let loose.

It’s a surprise that they went down the road, through the fence and onto the roof.

But within five to ten minutes, as we scared them, they somehow left.

Kristen said she would enforce the property boundaries to make sure no more animals get on top of the house.

She added: In the future, definitely make a change to the fence to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
